THE CLOTHES PEGS GAME!

img_5967Hi everyone!!

Here is an enjoyable and pedagogical game I play once a week with my students in the Kids groups.

The objective is to increase students learning, to encourage their appropriate social behaviour and decrease their discipline problems. This game has been well-received by the students since they are looking forward to playing it!!

WHAT IS NEEDED?

-Behavior chart

-Clothes pegs

-Creativity

-Kids colouring pencils, felt tip pens or crayons

-Sticker rewards

In our first lessons, I told the students what I wanted them to do in a way that was clear and easy to understand: it is important that they are able to remember what I expect of them.

  1. We set three rules:

Be respectful:

  • Of yourself and others
  • Wait patiently for your turn
  • Treat others as you would want to be treated
  • Listen while someone else is talking
  • Leave work area clean

Be responsible:

  • Stay on task and allow others to stay on task
  • Listen and follow directions
  • Take care of classroom materials
  • Ask for help when neededimg_5963
  • Be part of the group

Be creative:

  • Feel free
  • Say what you think
  • Share your original ideas

  1. We coloured the clothes pegs

WOW!!! They coloured the clothes pegs in the most wonderful way!!

  1. Rewards

Our students feel motivated and successful when they earn positive recognition or a reward for reaching a goal (our rules).img_5965

Here are our rewards:

It is time to play the game!!On Wednesdays and Thursdays (depends on the group), we give about 10 minutes to play the game. We talk about our rules and decide individually and as part of the group if the class goals have been reached. One by one put the clothes pegs in the box they think is more suitable (outstanding, great job, ready to learn or stop and think); they must reflect on their behaviour.img_5964

They wait anxiously their turn!!! The stickers are waiting for them!!!!

Now, they can use the stickers to decorate what they want!!

  • Comparte tus ideas
  1. Coloreamos las pinzas de ropa

WOW! ¡Colorearon y decoraron de maravilla!

  1. Premios/recompensas
