ENSEÑANZA DESDE EL AFECTO

Como profesores de un idioma, tenemos que prestar atención a muchos aspectos en nuestro trabajo, pero uno de los más significativos para nosotros es la enseñanza desde el afecto.

Esto implica sentir empatía con nuestros alumnos, ser amables con ellos, favorecer un ambiente agradable en el aula, hacerles sentir que nos importan y estar muy pendientes de su progreso.

De esa manera, nuestra labor se centra en saber utilizar las herramientas necesarias para guiarlos y crear las condiciones que favorezcan su adquisición del lenguaje, dotándolos de valor y confianza en sí mismos y potenciando su motivación a través de un trato personal y cercano.

Nuestra experiencia con alumnos de todo tipo nos ha enseñado que el punto de partida en la motivación de un alumno a menudo está en cómo éste se siente, y sus sentimientos dependen mucho de cómo nosotros les tratemos y cómo seamos capaces de despertar su interés. Si se sienten cómodos y valorados durante el proceso de aprendizaje, rendirán mejor y mostrarán más entusiasmo.

TEACHING FROM AFFECTION

As language teachers, we need to pay attention to many aspects in our work, but one of the most significant for us is teaching from affection. It involves feeling empathy with our learners, being kind with them, promoting a pleasant atmosphere in the classroom, making them feel we care about them and be very attentive to their progress. 

In that way, our labour focuses on knowing how to use the tools which are necessary to guide them and create the conditions that favour their language acquisition, providing them with courage and self-confidence and fostering their motivation throughout personal and close attention.

Our experience with all types of students has taught us that the starting point in a learner’s motivation is often in how they feel, and their feelings depend on how we treat them and how we are able to awake their interest. If they feel comfortable and appreciated during the learning process, they will perform better and will show more enthusiasm.
